How often do you feel like it's time for a change in your life?
I am always feeling like things need to change... Sometimes I wish that it would slow down, but at the same time I get excited that things are not staying the same for very long. It means that life can improve and be even better than it is today.
Changing requires your mind to be open and not closed. Staying open to the "possibilities" makes everyday feel like an amazing journey. One of the ways I make sure I keep my mind open is by challenging my daily beliefs. Especially those beliefs that create obstacles in my life. Whenever I come into a conflict I ask myself, "What am I thinking?" This question allows me to be aware of what is going on in my thought process so that I can change it. Most of the time I find I'm thinking of some stupid worn out idea that isn't serving my life at all. So then I ask myself, "What do I want in this situation?" This allows me to change the story and change the outcome.
I ask myself, "What do I want in this situation?" This allows me to change the story and change the outcome.
When my son Conor was born with all his health issues I believe I was looking at my situation just like any normal person would. I first thought I was somehow being punished for something I had done in my past, but then, when I realized that those beliefs brought me a lot of pain I knew they weren't true. I have held a long time belief that God doesn't make mistakes. When I looked at my situation I realized that there was no mistake done here either, my son was born exactly as he wanted to be. He wasn't flawed or in need of fixing. The only fixing that needed to happen was how I was viewing the situation. Once I stopped thinking something was wrong, I believe, I allowed my son to live as he came to live; in perfect happiness and abundance. My belief that he needed to change created hurt in my life and so I changed how I was viewing it and he changed.
Change is a constant
Since change is the only constant that happens in this world, if you are growing and embracing all that life is here to give, then you might as well embrace the journey and enjoy the ride.
